Since 2001, the club has held a trap shooting contest during the Iowa Pheasant Opener
weekend called "The BSHC Open". Contestants are vying for bragging right, a "BSHC Open Winner key fob", and "Jake" the
traveling trophy, named in honor of Jacob Leinenkugel.
Contestants can use any gun(s), any type of shell and can fire as many times as necessary
or as many times as they care to.
